VB: Hofstra to face Charleston this weekend
Hempstead, NY – After a pair of home sweeps, the Hofstra volleyball team will look to continue that southbound momentum this week when they travel to Charleston for a pair of games.
The Pride and Cougars will face off on Saturday and Sunday with the Saturday match starting at 1 p.m. and the Sunday contest starting at 12 p.m.

Hofstra starts this week with an 11-8 overall record and a 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association mark after the two wins over William & Mary. Graduate student Ana Martinovic leads with 209 kills and ranks second with 175 digs and 22 aces on serve. First-year student Florencia Wolkowyski has 147 killed, while junior Zyare Abdul Rahim is third with 141 kills. First-year student Beatriz Alves distributed 674 assists and ranks first with 28 aces on service and third with 137 digs. First-year student Chiara Cucco leads the team with 343 recoveries and junior Sarah Pierre has 76 blocks to lead the way in this category.
Charleston has an identical overall record of 11-8, while their CAA ledger is even at 4-4. Gabi Bailey has 219 kills, while Lexi Wierzbicki has 206. Sammy Campion leads the Cougars with 218 digs.
The all-time streak between Hofstra and Charleston is tied at 9-9. The two teams haven’t faced each other for a pair of Pride wins in the 2019 campaign. The most recent encounter was a 3-1 win at Hofstra on November 11, 2019.
