Track work temporarily suspends 2 Raleigh-Charlotte trains

Passengers on two of the six Piedmont trains that run daily between Raleigh and Charlotte will have to choose another until mid-July, NC railroad officials said.
In a service alert on twitter On Friday, state railway officials said Piedmontese trains 74 and 75 would not operate from Monday, June 27 through Thursday, July 14.
Track work is to blame for the temporary non-service, officials said.
The good news?
On Monday, July 4, both trains will run as usual, according to NC By Train, the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s official Piedmontese and Carolinian Trains online page.
The northbound 74 train leaves Charlotte at 10:30 a.m. each morning with stops at Kannapolis, Salisbury, High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Durham and Carey before arriving in Raleigh at 1:41 p.m.
The southbound 75 train leaves Raleigh at 10 a.m., with stops in the same seven cities before arriving in Charlotte at 1:10 p.m.
The other four Piedmont trains, also owned and operated by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, run daily between cities at earlier and later times, according to NCByTrain’s schedule page.
