Post 7 drops its decision in Charleston Post 65 | News, Sports, Jobs

CHARLESTON – Evan Wilson and Drew Mehall combined in five two-hitter innings to lead Charleston Post 65 to an 18-0 win over Buckhannon Post 7 on Wednesday night.
Wilson rode the first three innings for the win, allowing one hit and striking out four, with Mehall giving up the other hit in two innings of relief.
Zach Calef-Boring and Ryan Snyder represented the successes of Post 7.
Gage Tawney had five points, while Michael Ferrell, Garrett Stuck and Nate Gurski two each for Charleston, which had three points in first, six in second, two in third and seven in fourth.
Tawney scored a brace clearing to lead the charge in the second-inning explosion.
He added a two-run single in the fourth.
Stuck, Mehall and Tawney each had two hits for the post 65, which finished the game with 10 safeties.
Buckhannon used four pitchers in the game.
Calef-Boring suffered the loss in the first 1 2/3 innings.
Eli Bryant and Ryder Aman worked 1/3 innings each and Snyder went 1 2/3 frames, striking out two.
Post 7 pitchers were plagued by 11 steps.
Buckhannon (8-10) returns to action at Potomac Valley Post 64 at 5 p.m. Friday for a doubleheader.
